Full-time Teacher Trainer Needed: Boston, Massachusetts, USA The Boston Language Institute has an opening for a full-time trainer in our TEFL Certificate (English teacher training) Program. The Institute provides instruction in over 140 languages, including English, and offers translation and interpreting services in addition to the TEFL Certificate Program. We also provide Cross-Cultural seminars to governmental entities and corporations doing business abroad.
You will be joining a friendly, vibrant international team at one of the nation's leading English teacher training programs www.teflcertificate.com ).
The TEFL trainer position is 40 hours per week (including some Saturdays between September and June).
The TEFL trainer is responsible for:
• training TEFL candidates in the classroom • creating assignments and adapting texts for the trainees • observing and leading feedback for teaching practice sessions • providing support and guidance to trainees, both one-on-one and in group settings • some administrative duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred), at least a TEFL or CELTA certificate and a minimum 2 years' experience teaching English abroad. Candidates must have knowledge of teaching methodologies and English grammar, as well as a high level of interpersonal, communication and organizational skills. A sense of humor, flexibility and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are highly desirable skills. Once hired, the candidate will start as soon as possible.

We use the “Workplace Plus, Living & Working in English” program that has been customized for our staff, so minimal prep time will be required. This class focuses on verbal skills but also includes some grammar.
The classes will be 4 hr. sessions on Saturday mornings from 1/12/08 – 3/15/08.
